A classic day of woke nonsense

Mmmmm, nothing fills my heart with joy more than a nice woke story when I launch my phone in the morning. First thing I saw today:
Colin Farrell’s Golden Globes acceptance speech says no thanks to toxic masculinity

Wow, so brave. 

But seriously.

No one is going to be booed offstage or blacklisted by Hollywood for saying anything about so-called "toxic masculinity" (does anyone remember the days before "toxic" became a compulsory word?

Banging on about toxic masculinity and BLM scores zero points on the bravery scale, for the simple reason that the advocates of these issues are the people who will make your life difficult, especially as it relates to the hyper-over sensitive world of employment. This kind of sycophancy makes me cringe.

Oh, and you will note that the article above is from GQ, which used to be a normal men's mag but is now the most woke mainstream publication I know of. No idea what their strategy is. I will try to look into how sales are doing in future blog posts.

Now, I haven't been on to the BBC website this morning. I hate it, it makes no bones about its ridiculous agendas. They have what some call the "woke widget" which always has a minority complaint of the day. Let me check.........

Okay, interesting. The woke widget is titled "Newsbeat". Googling the word reveals this definition: "Newsbeat is the BBC's radio news programme broadcast on Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network. Newsbeat is produced by BBC News but differs from the BBC's other news programmes in its remit to provide news tailored for a specifically younger audience of teenagers and early twenties."

Hmm, well, if it said it was tailored to an ethnic minority audience, fair enough, but it doesn't. It is intended for all young people (in the UK).

Today's Newsbeat stories are, as usual, skewed towards stories of Strong Women, Women Victims (Megan Thee Stallion) and ethnic minorities either being amazing (Coachella story + KSI criticising a white man) or being victims. I wonder why Stephanie McMahon, whoever she is, has resigned from WWE. I am now going back to the story to check. I wonder if it's toxic masculinity (TM) of some sort. I will honestly report my findings. Here goes.

Ah, okay, she didn't resign as a result of TM but TM does play a role (phew): The 46-year-old had been co-CEO and chairwoman since July, taking over from her father Vince who retired following a number of misconduct claims.
