Why I decided to write the first anti-woke novel

The clue is in the title. I decided to write Jessica Shelton is Not Woke because I was amazed to see (during the many hours I spent browsing for books on Amazon) that no anti-woke novel existed. Not one. Not even a self-published dickie bird. And that is still true. There are plenty of non-woke novels, obviously - thrillers thankfully steer clear of the nonsense, on the whole - but there are no novels that actually say hang on, what the hell has happened to society, we are living through a time that is more serious (because it's all of society, not just Hollywood) that is like a new McCarthy era.   It was an irresistible prospect - to write the world's first anti-woke novel. It seemed akin to discovering a product that a large proportion of the world was crying out for, but only you had the blueprint for. Of course, Jessica Shelton is Not Woke might just appear on Amazon and, despite my best efforts at marketing it (or just because people don't like it) it fails to make a ...
